Read the Word Daily and spend time in contemplative prayer with Him.
Suggested readings:
Sunday: Psalm 86
Monday: Psalm 19
Tuesday: Psalm 27
Wednesday: Psalm 32
Thursday: Psalm 67
Friday: Psalm 130
Seek the Lord’s answers as you ask these questions:
The Traditional Questions:
• Did I conduct my business dealings with integrity?
• Did I set aside fixed times for the study of Torah?
(Did I spend time in Your Word and time with You?)
• Did I concern myself well with the duty of raising a family?
(How were my interactions in my primary relationships?
Did I fulfill my role in a way that honored You?)
Search me oh God, and know my heart today. Try me oh Savior, know my thoughts I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me. Cleanse me from every sin – and set me free.

Read Psalm 139, especially vs. 23 & 24.
Ask Adonai to open the eyes of your heart as you consider the following questions:
1) What did I do well this past year?
2) What has God done for me that I am truly thankful for?
3) In what way have I grown in my walk with God and with others?
4) What did I do that was not so good this past year?
5) Are there areas where I have been disappointed, and need to seek the Lord about?
6) In what way have I been distracted and/or have gotten off the path in my walk with God and with others?
7) Is there anyone I need to forgive?
8) Is there anyone I need to seek forgiveness from?
9) What would I like to see be different in my interactions with others this year and what steps can I take to move in that direction?
10) What would I like to see be different in my relationship with God and what steps can I take to move in that direction?
One effective tool to use in this process is to get a journal or notebook and write out the answers. Allow a full page for each question. Go through the list one time each week, asking God to reveal any areas you may have missed each time. Share your thoughts with a trusted friend, mentor, and/or prayer partner. If you are especially brave – ask for their input on what you may be blind to (we all have areas of blindness – it often takes the Spirit through the words of a friend to open our eyes)
