Thoughts from Habakkuk
When there’s no earthly reason
I’ll still rejoice
when sad is the season
I’ll still rejoice
‘cause true joy is found
on holy ground
and not in the things of the earth
life can be full of struggle and pain
but earthly pleasures
aren’t worth the gain
it’s your joy I seek
when my arms are still week
from wrestling with things of the earth
I don’t know the season in the eternal planes
into which my life was born...
I see only my time
and I wonder in rhyme
why this era with pain is so torn
but you see it all -
and you know the call on this generation in time
I see your Spirit stride - and I choose to abide
and trust you with things of the earth.
Habakkuk 3:17-19
“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls;
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength and he will make my feet like hinds feet and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.”
